18 Wheelchair Accessible Ramps Built in North Spirit, Ontario

We recently completed a major accessibility project in North Spirit Lake First Nation: building 18 wheelchair-accessible ramps to help homeowners safely enter and exit their homes.

For many residents, the existing setups were unsafe and in some cases, dangerous. This project was about more than ramps. It was about safety, independence, and dignity.

The Work

We built 18 code-compliant ramps across the community. Each one was designed to create a safe, stable, and accessible path from ground level to the front door. Every ramp was built with proper slope, structure, and support, tailored to the specific site conditions at each home. These were real solutions for real people.

Why It Mattered

Before this project, many residents were facing serious accessibility challenges. Some ramps were too steep. Others weren’t built to code. Some homes had no safe entry at all. For people with mobility limitations, something as basic as getting in and out of the house had become a daily risk. This project changed that.

Now, these homeowners can enter their homes safely and confidently. They don’t have to rely on others or worry about falling. They can come and go on their own terms with secure, durable ramps that were built with care and built to last.

We take pride in work that makes a real impact. Whether it’s a roof, a ramp, or a full renovation. It’s always about more than just the structure. It’s about who we’re building it for.
