I started in this trade with my Dad's crew when I was 14, and I've been on a job site every summer since. Roofing came later, and now we run two crews dedicated to it full-time, working across Winnipeg, Steinbach, surrounding towns, and up to the cabins on Lake of the Woods and into northern Ontario.
Everything I know about roofing, I learned on the job. Underlayment matters more than the shingles. Flashing is where most roofs fail. Cold-weather installs aren't textbook. The details no one sees are the ones that decide whether a roof lasts 10 years or 30.
